Biography
Julia Leskinen (Master of Music, M. Mus.) is a Finnish-Estonian musician, horn player, and pedagogue.
Leskinen has accumulated extensive expertise in various fields of music as a performer, chamber and orchestral musician, and teacher. She studied at the Sibelius Academy Helsinki with Erja Joukamo-Ampuja and Tero Toivonen and at the Zürich University of Arts with Mischa Greull.

​Classically trained Leskinen gets inspired by exploring new genres and mixing up different styles in her own music. Improvising, singing, and exploring with the loop station is a big part of her artistic identity nowadays. Alone or with other inspiring musicians on the stage with her dear horn, Leskinen feels at home.

Teaching French horn playing and music to others is Leskinen's passion. Building up a safe space to learn and explore is at the center of her teaching and using creative methods like composing and improvisation creates more opportunities for individual learners.
